Fun Fundraising Ideas

Raising funds can be difficult, especially if you have been participating in the Polar Plunge for multiple years.  A great way to raise funds for your Polar Plunge team is by hosting small fundraising events!

  • Many restaurants that are willing to donate a small percentage on a given night
  • Office bake sales (Valentine’s Day is a great theme!)
  • Car washes at local gas stations
  • Guest bartending nights!

Team Nickel and Dime of Aerotek Alameda hosted a bar night on Jan. 22 at the Blue Light in San Francisco and have another on Feb. 19 at Wreck Room! Captain Angela said the guest bartending has been very successful for her team! They’ve even sold food and had a signature drink as an extra boost for fundraising. If you live in the City, check out Nickel and Dime’s next event:

Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 from 6-8 p.m.

Wreck Room

1390 California St.

San Francisco, CA 94109

A group of Plungers in Fresno is hosting a wine and beer tasting party as a fundraiser! At the event on March 1, they’ll have wine and beer tasting (for just $15) along with appetizers, a silent auction and a live band! To see more about this event, please click here.

***Event require a $5.00 cover that goes right to the cause

If your team has any questions about putting on their own fundraiser, please contact Emma Fitzgerald at the Special Olympics Northern California office at EmmaF at! And of course, don’t forget to check out more fundraising tools on our Plunger resources page!
