It’s a party! The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, schools, and businesses to support Special Olympics athletes by jumping into winter-chilled waters! The wackier the costume, the better!  All funds raised benefit the more than 19,960 Special Olympics athletes in Northern California & Nevada!

Where is the Plunge & Run?

We suggest you arrive at least one hour prior to the 5K so you have time to park and check in and stretch!

For your GPS:

Dash and Splash Registration: 3260 Van Ness Parking lot (next to Aquatic Park)

The Plunge Location: Aquatic Park, Beach Street and Hyde, San Francisco, CA 94133

Why Should I Plunge?

So that the Special Olympics athletes in your neighborhood can compete! Everyone deserves a chance at a happy and purposeful life. Yet people with intellectual disabilities can face doubt, barriers and low expectations. For many, Special Olympics is the only place where they find an opportunity to participate in their communities, develop belief in themselves, and feel like champions. Make athletes’ dream come true and have a blast at the Plunge!
